The Northrop Bruins hosted Carroll for their senior night last night and came away with a sweet 64-62 victory over the Chargers.

In a game with 10 lead changes and 11 ties, the largest lead of the contest was only seven. It was tight all throughout with neither team able to pull away. In the end, the Bruins found themselves on the winning side, upsetting Carroll.

“We feel great going into the end of the season,” says Northrop guard, Darius Craig. “We’re trying to win three in a row and end it right.”

Northrop’s leading scorer Richard Robertson struggled from the field, scoring just 12 points. The Bruins had to switch their mindset to defense and distribution. Craig dropped in 11 points to go along with 6 assists and 3 steals, Jalen Royal chipped in 11, and Tyj Cobb added 7 points and 9 rebounds.

“When we play hard and play together, we can play with anybody,” says Northrop head coach, Rod Chamble. “It feels good to finally come through and get the W.”

Anthony Martin and Jacob Redding combined for 41 of Carroll’s 62 points, scoring 22 and 19 respectively.

This win wrapped up Northrop’s home schedule with two games left in the regular season. The Bruins’ next game is Friday, February 17 at Bishop Dwenger.
