The Northrop Bruins visited Concordia last night and came away with a much needed 64-52 victory.

After three straight losses, Northrop came out flat and Concordia took an early 12-0 lead. It didn’t last long. The Bruins kicked it into gear and went on a 36-10 scoring run the rest of the first half while playing lock down defense.

“If the tempo is faster we score a little easier,” said Northrop head coach, Rod Chamble.

Ayinde Smith anchored Northrop’s smothering D, picking the pocket of five Cadets.

The Bruins kept their lead the rest of the game and were able to play subs the last few minutes. Richard Robertson led Northrop with 25 points, Darius Craig racked up 10 assists, and Jalen Royal and Qualen Pettus each hit three three-pointers. Adam Gottschalk led Concordia in scoring with 18.

Northrop’s next game is Friday, February 10 hosting Carroll for senior night.
