The Northrop Bruins’ season came to an end tonight, as they took a heartbreaking 72-79 loss to the North Side Legends in the sectional semi-finals.

Northrop kept it close in the first half and didn’t let North Side pull away. Jagger Surface and the Bruins went into halftime down by just 5. Surface had 13 points and 5 rebounds in the first half.

Momentum changed hands many times in the second half. Northrop fought back to get within 2 points of the Legends multiple times, but could never take the lead. The game was never out of reach for the Bruins, but they just couldn’t get over the hump.

Surface led Northrop in scoring and rebounding with 28 points and 9 boards. Richard Robertson chipped in 16 points for the Bruins, and Quinten Lozano provided a lift off the bench with 11 points.

This was Coach Rod Chamble’s first year coaching the Bruins. He led Northrop to an 8-16 record (1-8 SAC).
