The Carroll Chargers took down the visiting Northrop Bruins tonight after jumping out to an early lead.

Jacob Redding had a great first half for Carroll, scoring 15 points and leading the Chargers to a 9-point lead. Northrop’s dynamic duo of Richard Robertson and Jagger Surface combined for 20 of the Bruins’ first half points, scoring 12 and 8 points respectively.

Carroll received a big lift in the second half from Kyle Mallers, who, despite fouling out in the fourth quarter, still managed to put up 15 points. Redding continued his hot shooting, dropping 17 points and leading the Chargers to a 65-51 victory. Robertson and Surface led all scorers with 18 each.

The Bruins have put up a good fight in most of their games this season, but can’t seem to string together many wins.

“We need to keep the energy and intensity levels up,” says Northrop head coach, Rod Chamble. “When a bench guy comes in he needs to bring even more intensity than the last guy.”

Northrop’s next game is Friday, February 19 hosting Bishop Dwenger.
