Northrop Theater presents Leaving Iowa on February 11 and 12 at 7p.m. Tickets are $5 with a second ticket for free with a student ID.

Leaving Iowa is a comedy about family road trips. Don Browning, a middle-aged writer, returns home and decides to finally spread his father’s ashes at his grandparent’s house. But things aren’t as they once were and his grandparent’s house is now a grocery store.

Don goes on a roadtrip of his own to find a new final resting place for his father. During the trip, Don recalls memories of a previous family road trip and things get a little crazy.

Mr. Miller has been directing and teaching theater here for 14 years and his favorite scene is Don’s “sentimental” monologue near the end of the play.

Leaving Iowa is Northrop’s 99th main stage production.
