The Northrop Bruins hosted the Concordia Cadets tonight in a close game eventually pulled out by the visitors.

The first half was neck and neck all throughout. Jagger Surface and Richard Robertson led the Bruins and combined for 22 of the team’s 30 first half points. Northrop went into the half with a one point lead.

Concordia came out of the locker room hitting more shots as they took the lead in the third quarter. Northrop went on runs and made it close multiple times in the final quarter of play, but couldn’t take the lead back as they fell to the visiting Cadets 66-72.

“Pressure gets on us late in games,” says Bruins head coach Rod Chamble. “We need to try to simulate late game situations in practice with extra defense to get used to the pressure.”

Paxton Bergdoll led Concordia in scoring with 20 points. Surface led all scorers with 24.

“We hit free throws late in the game and fought through the pressure to come out with the win,” said Bergdoll.

Northrop’s next game is Friday, February 12 at Carroll.
