The undefeated Warsaw Tigers traveled to Northrop tonight and came out with a 61-53 victory in overtime.

It was a close, back and forth game all throughout with defense acting as the focal point for both teams. At the half Warsaw was hanging on to a 25-23 lead over Northrop.

Jagger Surface heated up in the second half for the Bruins, scoring 13 points and ending the game with 23. Warsaw hit a game tying three pointer in the final seconds of regulation to send the game into overtime.

The Tigers dominated OT, out scoring the Bruins 11-3.

“We need to execute at the end of games,” says Bruins head coach, Rod Chamble. “Late in games we tend to get nervous and stray away from our offense.”

Paul Marandet hit clutch free throws down the stretch for Warsaw. He and Kyle Mangas led the Tigers in scoring with 22 apiece. Surface led all scorers with 23. Northrop’s Richard Robertson also chipped in 13 points.

The Bruins’ next game is Friday, January 29 at Homestead.
