Bruins Take Tough Loss to Rival Panthers

The Northrop Bruins traveled to Snider tonight and came out with a tough 67-79 loss in a back and forth battle.

Friday’s contest was tight all throughout the first half. Jagger Surface was the Bruins’ leading scorer at halftime with 10 points. Northrop went into the half ahead 31-29.

Snider began to pull away late in the third quarter, despite Richard Robertson catching fire from outside for the Bruins, knocking down three straight threes. The Panthers hit a buzzer beater to end the third quarter on top by eight.

Northrop couldn’t catch up and Snider took this important rivalry game 79-67. Robertson continued his hot shooting and led the Bruins in scoring with 25. Surface added 10 more points in the second half to end the night with 20. Tyj Cobb recorded a double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Northrop’s next game is Friday, January 15 at home against North Side.
