Junior WR Tyon Woods has returned to Northrop Football after his two game suspension. His season debut was September 5 at Spuller Stadium against Snider. Woods missed two regular season games and one scrimmage.

“I feel like Tyon is a great boost for the offense. He takes pressure off our quarterback and offensive line, and we produce more as an offense and team because of him,” said Senior wide receiver, Aaron Thomas.

Woods has been practicing with the Bruins this summer, and he also played for AWP (Athletes With Purpose), knowing that he would not be able to play until the third week of high school football.

Woods is confident his return will help the team improve.

“I hope to bring ‘Dubs’ (Wins),” said Woods.

Woods was the second leading rusher against Bishop Dwenger with 69 yards on just 4 carries and also led the team in receptions with 7, and receiving yards with 76. Woods also contributed many return yards for the Bruins. Although the team lost, Woods had an impact on the team and game.

“I’m glad he’s back because he’s a natural football player and he can make plays,” said Junior middle linebacker D’Shondre Miller.
