This past weekend was State for the Speech and Debate Team.  State was held at Fishers High School in Indianapolis.  The competition was tough with the best of the State there.  The team fought their hardest throughout the entire with waking up at 4  a.m. to get ready and leave the hotel by 6 a.m. to competing their hardest the entire day.  Northrop didn’t place as a team at State but there were  two people who placed:

  • Caleb Curtis is 6th in the State in Dramatic Interpretation.
  • Urvi Joshi is 11th in the State in United States Extemporaneous Speaking.

Congratulations to them and to the entire team.  The team sends a shout out to Principal Ahlersmeyer for showing up at Fishers to see how the team was doing.  This was unfortunately the last meet for the Speech and Debate season except for those who made it to nationals.  The team fought hard this season and did a fantastic job considering how many snow days and how limited practices and meets there were.   The team will practice all summer and get ready for next season.
