Israeli Apples in Pajamas

Have you ever made Israeli Apples in Pajamas? Well if not this is how you make them.

 Ingredients:

  • 4 large firm apples, peeled, cored and sliced into 1/2 inch rings
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 T. vegetables oil, plus more vegetables oil, for frying
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Combine flour and salt into a mixing bowl
  2. Gradually whisk in eggs, the tablespoon of vegetable oil, the milk and water
  3. Dip several apples slices in the batter it should be just thick enough to adhere to the apples
  4. Pour about an inch of vegetable oil into a large heavy skillet and heat to 375 degrees F
  5. Fry apple rings 4 or 5 at a time being careful not to crowd them
  6. Fry for few mins on both sides until crisping
  7. Using tongs take them out careful
  8. Drain on paper towels
  9. Mix together sugar and cinnamon sprinkle on top of apples before serving
